3M™ tape primer 94 can be used to improve the overall adhesion of tape, film and vinyl graphics to polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces.
3M 23926 94 Series Tape Primer is a light-yellow, fast-drying primer formulated for tape and masking applications in collision repair. It provides a uniform base coat that improves adhesion of subsequent paint layers on repaired panels.
The primer offers up to 600 sq ft (≈14.7 m²) coverage per gallon, enabling efficient use on large surfaces. With a flash point of 20 °C (closed-cup) and VOC content of 820 g/L, it cures quickly while maintaining compatibility with ABS, concrete, plastic, wood and existing primer substrates. The low-solvent formula supports rapid flash time and reduces the risk of solvent entrapment under tape.
Due to its "Danger" signal word and listed GHS hazards (including acute toxicity, skin corrosion, and flammability), proper PPE-eye protection, gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator-is required. Use in well-ventilated areas and follow standard cleanup with acetone and vigorous scrubbing.
