Right paint code, wrong color? It's usually one of these 4 things #Shorts
Same code, right formula, wrong colour on the car? It's nearly always the light you judged it under, the angle, the variant, or a spray-out card that didn't copy the job. Judge under daylight (about 6,500 K), then under a halogen and a shop LED: two formulas can match under one lamp and part under the next. A metallic is two colours, face and flop. Spray a card first, like the job: the formula's sealer shade, the same gun, distance and flash, because wet reads darker and dry reads lighter. Clear it, dry it, judge it in the panel's plane. Then tint one hit at a time, 10% of that toner's weight, only with toners already in the formula. Cleaning a spray gun? 4 rules from the gun makers' manuals #Shorts
Four rules for cleaning a spray gun, from the gun makers' own manuals (DeVilbiss and 3M): 1. Take the cap, tip and needle off, and never put the gun body in solvent: DeVilbiss says it's hard on the packings and the lube. 2. Air cap holes get a brush or a toothpick, never a wire: 3M says a scratch can distort the spray pattern. 3. Flush the paint passage with gun cleaner (3M 26689 in the video). 4. After every cleaning, a drop of gun lube on the trigger stud, the air valve stem and the needle where it enters the packing.
