- DIMENSION® HS basecoat is a solventborne 3.5 VOC basecoat that gives mid-tier customers an alternative to waterborne basecoat, providing thousands of similar color matches to the vehicle's original color. HS basecoat applies similar to the current national rule basecoat and does not require any specialized equipment. This new DIMENSION®. Basecoat will only require the addition of the new DM631 mixing clear to the existing system and use the intermix designation of "3B". HS basecoat is part of the new DIMENSION®. Low VOC system, which includes sealers, single stage color and a clearcoat. The DIMENSION®. Low VOC system is compact, requiring only one hardener and four reducers.
