Built for the job.
Our 3M™ Panel bonding adhesive is a cost-effective two-part epoxy adhesive for bonding replacement body panels. From its fast, convenient cartridge system the adhesive seals and bonds steel, aluminum, SMC, and FRP securely in a single operation.
3M 08115 is a two‑part, viscous panel bonding adhesive supplied in a 200 mL dual‑syringe cartridge. It is designed for structural repairs and panel bonding where a strong, durable bond is required on a variety of automotive substrates.
The formulation cures to full strength in 24 hours with a work (flash) time of 90 minutes, allowing ample repositioning before set. It bonds effectively to ABS, aluminum, bare metal, e‑coat, FRP, galvanized steel, OEM plastics, primer, SMC and standard steel surfaces, providing a versatile solution for mixed‑material repairs.
Due to its acute toxicity, carcinogenicity and oxidizing nature, use requires full PPE: eye protection, chemical‑resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator in a well‑ventilated area. The closed‑cup flash point is 110 °C.
Why Pros Choose 3M 2-Part
- A high-performance two component epoxy adhesive bonds a variety of steel, aluminum, SMC and FRP (traditional fiberglass) non-structural components
- Bonds outer body panels to reduce welding and riveting time
- Corrosion inhibiting formula protects work for long-lasting results
- Has excellent shelf life opened or unopened, reducing unused product replacement costs
- Can be spot welded through or used in conjunction with rivets for added reinforcement
- Heat accelerated curing affords long work times and reduces cycle time
- Also use to reinforce welded or riveted structural components
- Product has corrosion inhibiting formula
How to Use
For door hem flanges, door skins, floor pans, metal bonding and metal to composite bonding
- Clean and degrease all substrates (ABS, aluminum, steel, etc.) to remove oil, rust, and loose material; ensure a dry, contaminant‑free surface.
- Dispense the two parts from the dual syringe cartridge and mix thoroughly. The mixed adhesive has a work (pot) time of 90 minutes.
- Apply a uniform thin coat of the mixed adhesive to one substrate. Press the mating surface together and maintain pressure (clamp or weight) to ensure full contact.
- Allow the joint to cure for 24 hours at ambient temperature before handling or applying loads.
