3M 8272 2‑Part Repair Adhesive, 400 mL Dual Cartridge, Dark Green Viscous Liquid
Built for the job.
3M™ SMC/Fiberglass repair adhesives are two-part urethanes or two-part epoxies used to bond backup strips to SMC (sheet molded compound), FRP (traditional fiberglass) and primed metal. Our adhesives provide a full range of hardness, flexibility and worktimes for jobs such as reinforcing the backside of plastic…
3M 08272 is a two-part, viscous liquid repair adhesive supplied in a 400 mL dual cartridge (mix ratio 1 : 1.2). It is designed for structural repairs on automotive substrates such as ABS, fiberglass, FRP, OEM plastics, polyester and primer-coated surfaces.
The formulation offers a rapid work time of 10 minutes with full cure in 60 minutes, allowing sandable finish after the same period. Its low VOC content (816 g/L) supports compliance with emission regulations while providing strong adhesion to a wide range of polymeric materials.
Due to acute toxicity, aspiration hazard, carcinogenic potential and flammability, use requires eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing and a respirator in a well-ventilated area. Follow the SDS for first-aid procedures and handling precautions.

How to Use
For backside reinforcement repair on a variety of plastic components
- Clean the substrate (ABS, fiberglass, FRP, OEM plastic, polyester, primer, SMC) to remove dust, oil, and loose material.
- Mix Part A and Part B in a 1:1.2 ratio by volume; stir until a uniform viscous liquid is obtained. The mixed adhesive has a work time of 10 minutes.
- Apply the mixed adhesive with a brush or spatula in a single coat to fill the repair area, ensuring complete coverage and proper wet edge.
- Allow the material to cure for 60 minutes at the recommended application temperature before handling.
- After the 60-minute cure, sand the repaired surface as needed; the adhesive is sandable at this stage.
