Dual‑Mix™ 39747 is a 2‑component, black liquid panel adhesive designed for high‑strength bonding of sheet metal, fiberglass, and OEM panels in collision repair. The 7 oz cartridge delivers a 3/8″‑diameter bead that covers approximately 115 in², making it suitable for both structural repairs and trim attachment.
At 70 °F (21 °C) the adhesive provides a 90‑minute work window before the pot life ends, and reaches full cure in 24 hours. It adheres to a wide range of substrates—including aluminum, steel, bare metal, fiberglass, primer, and SMC—allowing flexibility across body shop applications. The formulation’s flash point of 95 °C supports safe handling under typical shop conditions.
Due to its acute toxicity, carcinogenicity, and skin‑corrosive properties, proper PPE is mandatory: eye protection, gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator. How to Use
For MIG or STRSW welding
- Clean and degrease the substrate (aluminum, steel, fiberglass, OEM, primer, SMC) to ensure a contaminant‑free surface.
- Mix the two components according to the manufacturer’s specified ratio (refer to the TDS for exact proportion). The mixed adhesive has a work time of 90 minutes at 70 °F (21 °C).
- Apply a 3/8‑inch diameter bead to the joint, using a dispensing gun or spatula. One bead provides approximately 115 in² of coverage.
- Position the panels and press together; allow the adhesive to set for the remaining work time. Do not disturb the joint.
- After the initial set, allow the assembly to cure for 24 hours at 70 °F (21 °C) before handling or load application.
- Clean any excess adhesive from the work area while the adhesive is still wet, using a suitable solvent as recommended in the TDS.
