The primer offers a flash time of 5–10 minutes between coats and is specified for four coats to achieve full coverage. With a VOC content of 648 g/L (approximately 59.5 % VOC), it delivers a high solids formulation that bonds chemically to the substrate, reducing the need for additional sanding or adhesion promoters.

How to Use
For bare steel, bare aluminum
- Clean the substrate (aluminum, steel, or previously primed surface) and remove all rust, oil, and loose material. Ensure the surface is dry.
- Shake the aerosol can thoroughly for at least 30 seconds before use.
- Apply the first coat of SEM® 39673 Self‑Etching Primer in a light, even spray. Allow a flash time of 5–10 minutes before applying the next coat.
- Repeat the spray application to achieve a total of 4 coats, maintaining the 5–10 minute flash interval between each coat.
- After the final coat, allow the primer to fully cure as specified by the product’s cure schedule before proceeding to topcoat.
- Clean spray equipment and any spills with a solvent or cleaning material that complies with VOC regulations.
