A high adhesion, super conductive primer offering excellent rust and corrosion protection when applied to panels prior to Resistance Spot, MIG and TIG welding.
U-POL UP0768 WELD#2 is a weld-through primer formulated for copper-colored repair work on automotive panels. It is applied directly over fresh welds to seal porosity, improve adhesion of subsequent coats, and provide corrosion protection before final topcoat.
The 450 mL can cover up to 53.8 sq-ft with one to two coats at an application temperature of 68 °F. Air dry time is rapid-10 to 20 minutes-allowing fast turnaround in body shop environments. It bonds to aluminum, galvanized steel, and previously primed substrates, making it suitable for mixed-metal repairs.
Safety handling requires a ventilated workspace and full PPE: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator as indicated by the "Warning" signal word and multiple GHS hazards. Follow standard first-aid procedures for inhalation, skin contact, eye exposure, or ingestion.

How to Use
For direct to metal, aluminum, galvanized steel
- Ensure the work area is at or above 68 °F (20 °C) before beginning.
- Clean the substrate (aluminum, galvanized steel, or previously primed surface) to remove oil, grease, rust, and loose material. Lightly sand if necessary to achieve a sound profile.
- Apply UP0768 Weld-Through Primer with a spray gun or brush in one to two coats, overlapping each pass for uniform coverage.
- Allow 10-20 minutes air dry between coats and before subsequent topcoat application.
