3M Automix 08239 is a two-component epoxy paste formulated for repairing plastic parts and other non-metal substrates. Delivered in a 200 mL cartridge, it is mixed at a ratio of 1 : 1.2 and designed for rapid fill applications where a 50-second work window is required before flash.
The formulation offers excellent sprayability and can be applied up to ten coats to achieve a uniform finish. It adheres to a wide range of substrates, including ABS, aluminum, fiberglass, FRP, OEM plastics, primer, SMC, steel, and wood, providing versatile repair capability across body shop projects.
Due to its classification as acute toxic, flammable, and a carcinogen, proper personal protective equipment is mandatory: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator. Use in a well-ventilated area and follow the first-aid procedures outlined in the SDS for inhalation, skin contact, eye exposure, and ingestion.

How to Use
For use to repair TPO plastics including PP, EP, EPDM, TEO and Metton®
- Clean the substrate thoroughly; remove all dirt, oil, and loose material before repair.
- Mix the paste with hardener at a 1 : 1.2 ratio by volume. Mix until uniform; pot life is limited to the application window (≈50 seconds).
- Apply the first coat using a brush or spray gun. The product offers excellent sprayability.
- Allow 50 seconds flash time before applying the next coat. Continue for a total of 10 coats as required for thickness and fill.
- After the final coat, allow the part to cure according to the manufacturer's recommended cure schedule (not specified in data).
- Clean tools with appropriate solvent (e.g., acetone) while the material remains tacky; dispose of waste per local regulations.
