HOUSE OF KOLOR® KD3000-G01 is a high/medium-build DTS primer surfacer/sealer supplied in a 1 gal gray can. It is formulated for use as the base layer on repair panels and full-body applications where a durable, sandable surface is required before color coating.
The formulation is compatible with aluminum, bare metal, e-coat, fiberglass, galvanized steel, OEM finishes, plastic, polyester, existing primer, and steel substrates. Applied with a gun (mix ratio set on the spray equipment), it typically requires three coats to achieve full coverage. The low VOC rating of 2.1 lb/gal (250 g/L) helps meet emissions regulations while delivering consistent build.
Safety: the product is classified as a Warning hazard with acute toxicity, aspiration risk, carcinogenic potential, oxidizer properties, and skin corrosion. How to Use
For use on bare steel, aluminum, fiberglass, galvanized surfaces and various plastics
- Thoroughly clean the substrate to remove grease, oil, dust, and loose material; ensure a sound, dry surface.
- Configure spray equipment according to the product's "gun setup" recommendation (pressure and nozzle size as specified by the manufacturer).
- Apply the primer surfacer in three uniform coats. Observe the recommended flash time between each coat before applying the next.
- After the final coat, allow the material to cure according to the manufacturer's stated curing schedule before handling or overcoating.
