Overview
Built for the job.
Heavy cut, 100% twisted wool compounding pad for removing all grits of sanding scratches. Designed with a recessed cup that prevents the backing plate from coming in contact with the buffing surface. Single-sided hook and loop pad 9 in Dia 1-1/2 in.
The Presta 890146 Compound Pad is a 9-inch diameter, 1½-inch thick wool polishing pad with hook-and-loop attachment, designed for use on compound and finishing stages in auto body repair. Its dual-color (black and white) surface provides visual feedback of wear, making it suitable for sanding, blending, and feathering applications across a range of panels.
Constructed from durable wool fibers, the pad delivers consistent coverage on compatible substrates including ABS, aluminum, fiberglass, OEM finishes, and various plastics. The 1½-inch thickness offers ample cushioning to maintain flash time control while achieving uniform material removal, reducing the need for multiple pad changes during a job.
When using this pad, technicians should wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and respiratory protection if dust generation is anticipated, and ensure adequate shop ventilation. Follow standard safe-handling procedures for abrasive tools to minimize exposure to airborne particles.
