Where to find your paint code
Your paint code is on a sticker on the car — most often the driver door jamb, or the glovebox, trunk lid, or under the hood. Look for a label marked PAINT, COLOR, C/TR, or a short alphanumeric code (e.g. WA8555, B-588P).

How accurate is the match to my factory color?
We mix to the manufacturer's formula for your exact paint code — the same standard body shops use — and spray-out test every batch before it ships. On-screen swatches are indicative; the code on your door-jamb sticker is what guarantees the match.
Should I pick 1K basecoat or 2K single-stage?
1K basecoat is the factory-style route: blend-friendly, then topcoat with clear for gloss and UV protection. 2K single-stage has the hardener built in — spray and done — and shrugs off fuel and chemicals. Recreating the OEM look on a visible panel? Go 1K plus clear.
How much paint do I need?
A door ding or bumper corner: one 6.7 oz aerosol. A full panel — door skin, fender, hood edge — plan on two. Spraying with a gun, a pint covers roughly one panel in two coats. Still unsure? Run it through our coverage calculator.
Can you get my color from the VIN?
Not directly — a VIN identifies your year, make and model, but the paint code isn't encoded in it. Use the VIN tab to narrow the list, then confirm the code on your door-jamb sticker (we show you where to look).
When does custom-mixed paint ship?
Every can is mixed fresh to your code in South San Francisco and spray-out tested. Order by 3 PM PT and it typically leaves the same business day; after that, the next.
Why do tricoat (3-stage) colors come as two cans?
A factory tricoat — Blizzard Pearl (070), for example — gets its depth from two separate components: a color basecoat, then a translucent pearl mid-coat sprayed over it. They can't be combined in one can, so we supply both, each mixed for your exact code, and you finish with clear. The finder prices and adds the full 2-can set automatically.
Do some colors cost more to mix?
Two surcharges, always shown in the price before you add to cart: red pigments run 20% more (red toners are the most expensive to make), and pearl formulas run 15% more. Everything else mixes at the standard rate.
