Axalta 410A-SC is a single-component, aerosol primer-surfacer formulated for rapid fill and sandable finish on a range of body shop substrates. Delivered in a 14 oz can, it provides a light gray base coat that adheres directly to aluminum, e-coat, galvanized steel, polyester, existing primers, and plain steel.
At a ready-to-use mix ratio, the product spreads at approximately 70 sq ft per mil of film thickness, allowing a single coat to achieve full coverage. The low VOC formulation (482 g/L, 4 lb/gal) meets environmental standards while delivering consistent flash time and cure performance suitable for high-throughput repair cycles.
Handling requires standard personal protective equipment: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator in well-ventilated areas. The aerosol propellant is classified as compressed gas with a flash point of 333 °C (631 °F); follow H-statements H223, H280, H317, H318, H336, and H351 for safe use.

How to Use
For sanded bare steel, sanded galvanized (cut-through), sanded aluminum (cut-through), sanded E-coat, original or old paintwork
- Clean the substrate thoroughly; remove oil, grease, rust, and loose material. Ensure the surface is dry.
- Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use to ensure uniform dispersion.
- Apply with a spray gun or nozzle in overlapping passes to achieve a wet film thickness of approximately 1 mil (≈25 µm). One coat provides full coverage.
- Allow the primer-surfacer to flash and dry according to the manufacturer's recommended time before applying subsequent topcoats.
