A fast drying lacquer-based spray paint that provides durable indoor and outdoor protection. Resistant to the effects of weather and many chemicals. Resists abrasion and heat (250 deg F). Bare surfaces or rusted metal surfaces should first be primed with our Spruce® primers to ensure proper adhesion.
SEYMOUR® Spruce® 98-1 is a fast-drying metallic spray paint formulated for aluminum and other coated substrates. Delivered in a 16 fl-oz aerosol can, it provides up to 15 sq ft of coverage per coat, making it ideal for body panel refinishing and custom accent work where a bright metallic finish is required.
The formula reaches recoat readiness in 20 minutes when applied within the recommended temperature range of 50-90 °F. It adheres well to aluminum, e-coat finishes, primers, and wood, allowing seamless integration into multi-stage paint systems. Shelf life is guaranteed for two years under proper storage conditions.
Because the product contains flammable solvents (flash point -19 °C) and hazardous aerosols, technicians must wear eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator in a well-ventilated area. Follow H-statements H222, H280, H315, H336, H361, and H373 for safe handling.

Application Guide
- Clean the substrate (aluminum, e-coat, primer, or wood) to remove all oils, grease, and loose material; ensure a dry, contaminant-free surface.
- Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use to suspend metallic pigments uniformly.
- Apply the spray in light, overlapping passes at the recommended temperature range of 50 °F-90 °F. Build up to the desired finish; typical coverage is up to 15 sq-ft per can.
- Allow a minimum flash time of 20 minutes between coats. After the final coat, let the paint cure under the same temperature conditions before handling or applying any topcoat.
