3M 08693 Auto Glass Urethane Windshield Adhesive is a black paste-type urethane formulated for bonding windshields to vehicle frames. It is supplied in a 10.5 fl-oz cartridge and designed for professional auto body applications where long-term structural integrity and water tightness are required.
The adhesive offers excellent sprayability and can be applied up to ten coats on a single panel, providing consistent thickness and strength. It cures fully within 24 hours at ambient temperature and adheres to a wide range of substrates including ABS, aluminum, fiberglass, steel, wood, and primed surfaces, making it suitable for most OEM and aftermarket repairs.
Use requires standard PPE: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator in well-ventilated areas. How to Use
For reinstallation of vehicle windshields, backlights and sidelights
- Clean all compatible substrates (aluminum, steel, fiberglass, wood, etc.) to remove oil, grease, and contaminants; ensure surfaces are dry.
- Apply the adhesive using spray equipment for optimal coverage. Deposit a total of 10 coats to achieve required thickness.
- Allow the assembly to cure for 24 hours before handling or further processing.
