Dual-Mix™ 39387 is a two-component, self-leveling seam sealer designed for automotive structural repairs and panel bonding. Formulated as a low-viscosity liquid in a 7 oz cartridge, it provides a smooth, uniform fill on seams, joints, and gaps before paint preparation.
Technical highlights include a work time of 60 minutes at 70 °F, allowing ample handling for complex seams, with sandable hardness achieved in 15 minutes. Full cure is reached after 48 hours, delivering a durable, zero-VOC seal that adheres to aluminum, bare metal, e-coat, fiberglass, OEM plastics, primer, SMC, and steel substrates. The formulation offers exceptional impact resistance once cured.
Safety handling requires standard PPE: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator in confined spaces. How to Use
For use on bare metal, OEM finish, epoxy primer and DTM urethane primer
- Clean the substrate (aluminum, steel, fiberglass, plastic, etc.) and remove all contaminants; ensure a dry, oil-free surface.
- Mix the two components in the cartridge according to the manufacturer's instructions; work time is up to 60 min after mixing.
- Apply the sealer with a brush or roller, allowing it to self-level into seams and joints.
- Wait approximately 15 min for the material to become sandable; lightly sand if a smooth finish is required.
- If additional coats are needed, reapply after sanding; each coat follows the same 15-minute sandable window.
- Allow the final coat to cure fully-48 hr at 70 °F (21 °C) for maximum hardness.
