Dual-Mix™ Heavy bodied seam sealer is a high viscosity, two-component epoxy for use on interior or exterior seams, joints and voids.
Dual-Mix™ 40477 Heavy Bodied 2-Component Seam Sealer is a high-build, white liquid sealer designed for structural seam repair on automotive panels. It provides a durable, sandable fill that bonds to bare metal, OEM finishes, and primer-coated surfaces.
The formulation cures in 1 hour at 70 °F (21 °C) with a work time of 10 minutes and becomes sandable after approximately 15 minutes. Zero VOC content eliminates emissions concerns while the heavy-bodied consistency ensures excellent coverage over deep seams and gaps without sagging.
Handle with full PPE: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator are required due to acute toxicity, skin corrosion, and respiratory hazards. Use in a well-ventilated area; the flash point is 257 °C. Follow H302, H315, H317, H319, H335, and H351 safety statements for safe application.

How to Use
For use on bare metal, OEM finish, epoxy primer and DTM urethane primer
- Prepare the substrate: ensure the area is clean, dry, and consists of bare metal, OEM finish, or primer.
- Mix the two components according to the label directions; work within the 10-minute work time at 70 °F (21 °C).
- Apply a uniform coat of the heavy-bodied seam sealer. Allow the material to become sandable (approximately 15 minutes) before handling.
- After sanding, let the sealant fully cure for 1 hour at 70 °F (21 °C) before proceeding with subsequent body work.
