TRANSTAR® 4361-F Quick Dry Rubberized Undercoat is a one-gallon black primer formulated for rapid sandable coverage on aluminum, galvanized steel, and plain steel panels. It is supplied ready to spray, eliminating the need for mixing and supporting fast production cycles in collision repair.
The low-VOC formulation (2.74 lb/gal or 328 g/L) provides up to two coats with consistent thickness, delivering a durable rubberized film that resists impact and moisture intrusion. Shelf life is rated at one year when stored sealed, ensuring reliable performance over typical shop inventory periods.
Because the product carries a "Warning" signal word and multiple GHS hazards-including acute toxicity, skin corrosion, and flammability-proper personal protective equipment is required: eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator. - Thoroughly clean the aluminum, galvanized, or steel substrate to remove oil, grease, rust, and loose material.
- The product is ready to spray; no mixing ratio or pot life calculation required.
- Apply the first coat with conventional spray equipment, maintaining proper atomization for a uniform film.
- Allow appropriate flash time (per standard practice) before applying the second coat.
- Apply the second coat to achieve full coverage and desired thickness.
