TRANSTAR® 6854 is a clear, liquid lightning activator designed for use in the 6800 Series basecoat/clearcoat system. It provides rapid flash and cure activation on primed metal or composite substrates, enabling body shop technicians to achieve full hardness and gloss within the recommended flash time of the associated clearcoat.
The activator delivers low VOC emissions at 3.50 lb/gal (420 g/L) and is formulated for consistent coverage when mixed according to the clearcoat label or datasheet. It works on all standard automotive primers and pre-treated panels, supporting efficient workflow without compromising film thickness or adhesion.
Safety compliance requires a "Warning" signal word; handle with eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator in well-ventilated areas. Follow H-statements H225, H315, H317, H331, H334, H336, and H350 for fire, skin, respiratory, and carcinogenic hazards.
