Extra solids acrylic urethane clear coat activators are specifically designed for high productivity shops using TRANSTAR® finish-tec® clear coats. activators are suitable for use in clear coat applications over single stage topcoats and for base/clear applications (except lacquers).
TRANSTAR® 6894 Extra Solid Overall Activator is a one-quart hardener designed for use with TRANSTAR® clearcoat systems in automotive refinishing. It provides the necessary chemical activation to achieve full cross-linking of the topcoat, delivering an extra-solid film build on a variety of substrates including metal, primed sheet steel and pre-treated composites.
The activator is formulated with a low VOC rating of 3.4 lb/gal (407 g/L) and a shelf life of one year when unopened. Mix ratio must follow the clearcoat label to ensure proper flash time and cure schedule. Its high solid content allows efficient coverage, reducing material waste while maintaining excellent flow and leveling on complex panel geometry.
Safety is critical: the product carries a "Warning" signal word with acute toxicity, carcinogenicity, flammability, oxidizing, respiratory and skin-corrosion hazards.
