Transtar Hydroflex® 1221 is a waterborne flexible primer formulated for high-build applications in automotive refinishing. Delivered in a 5 gal round can with a satin black tint, it provides a durable base coat for panels requiring excellent adhesion and flexibility before topcoat application.
The formulation offers 570 ft² per gallon at a 1 mil film thickness, allowing 1-3 coats depending on substrate condition. It is compatible with aluminum, e-coat, fiberglass, galvanized steel, OEM finishes, plastics, existing primers, SMC, and standard steel, making it suitable for mixed-material repairs.
