Globalstar L121K1 High Gloss Low VOC DTM Binder 1 gal Whitish Liquid Can
Built for the job.
L12.1.K1 is a high quality DTM product in gloss finish. It can be applied over well prepared hot and cold rolled steel, galvanized steel and aluminum. It can also be applied on well prepared fiberglass, wood and most plastic substrates. Unlike most competitors DTM products L12.1.K1 has anti corrosive propertiesβ¦
GlobalStar L121K1 is a high-gloss, low-VOC DTM polyurethane binder formulated for clearcoat applications where maximum depth and durability are required. Packaged in a 1 gal can with a whitish appearance, it provides a stable base for topcoats on a wide range of automotive substrates.
Key performance data include a pot life of 2 hours and a dry time of 2-4 hours at 20 Β°C (68 Β°F), allowing efficient workflow without premature tack. The binder spreads to approximately 337 ftΒ² per gallon at 100 % transfer efficiency, delivering consistent coverage on aluminum, e-coat, fiberglass, galvanized steel, OEM plastics, primers, wood, and other common body shop materials.
Due to its acute toxicity and flammability (flash point -17 Β°C), proper personal protective equipment-eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, and a respirator-is required. Use in a well-ventilated area and follow H-statements H225, H315, H317, H319, H336, H350, H402, and H412 for safe handling.

How to Use
Heavy Industrial Equipment, Oil Field Equipment, Construction Equipment, Aircraft and Marine (Above The Water Line), Airport Ground Support Equipment, Truck and Trailer Refinishing, Equipment, Truck, Trailer OEM Finishing
- Ensure the target surface (aluminum, e-coat, fiberglass, galvanized, OEM, plastic, primer, steel, or wood) is clean, dry, and free of contaminants.
- Mix the binder according to the manufacturer's recommended ratio (refer to product label); work within the 2-hour pot life at 20 Β°C (68 Β°F).
- Apply the first coat with a spray gun or roller using standard DTM techniques. Allow 2-4 hours drying time at 20 Β°C (68 Β°F) before handling.
- If additional coats are required, apply subsequent coats after the previous layer has reached dry touch (2-4 hours). Typical finish is achieved with 1-2 coats depending on coverage needs.
- Clean equipment with an appropriate solvent (e.g., acetone or recommended cleaner) while the binder remains within its pot life.
