Chevrolet Touch Up Paint — Mixed to Your Exact Code

2018 and newer: the Certification Label on the driver's door jamb, by the QR code. Older: the glovebox label (trucks and SUVs) or the spare-tire well or trunk lid (cars).

The body color is marked BC/CC, or a U followed by four characters (U8555). An L and four characters is the lower color of a two-tone. Paint suppliers write it as a WA number: U8555 is WA8555. The same color may also carry a three-character RPO code: Summit White is GAZ, WA8624 or 50.

Not directly: the paint code isn't in the VIN. A Chevrolet dealer can look the code up from your VIN, or you can read it off the label described above. The finder also lists every Chevrolet color by year and model.

A tri-coat gets its depth from two separate components: a color basecoat, then a translucent pearl mid-coat sprayed over it. They can't be combined in one can, so we supply both, each mixed for your exact code, and you finish with clear. Yes — when you send us a sample. Mail us a painted part from the car (a fuel door, a mirror cap, a chip) and we match the paint to it and check it against your sample before it ships. If the mix doesn't match your sample, we re-mix it and ship it again free. Orders mixed from a paint code alone follow the factory formula, which can differ from paint that has faded or been resprayed, so they aren't covered — spray a test card before you paint.
