Where to find the paint code on a Nissan

The paint code is on the label on the driver's door jamb (the B-pillar), sometimes low on the pillar. On older Nissans look on the firewall, in the engine bay or on the radiator support.

The code is three letters and numbers, such as KH3 or QAB. If a fourth character follows after a space, it is not part of the paint code.

The VIN does not contain the paint code, but a Nissan dealer can look the code up from it. Can't find the label? The finder lists every Nissan color by year and model.

Why do Nissan tri-coat colors come as two cans?

A tri-coat gets its depth from two separate components: a color basecoat, then a translucent pearl mid-coat sprayed over it. They can't be combined in one can, so we supply both, each mixed for your exact code, and you finish with clear. How much paint do I need?
