There is no word beside it: the code is letters, three digits and a finish letter, printed NH-731P or NH731P. A P at the end is a pearl, an M a metallic. NH-731P is Crystal Black Pearl, NH-883P Platinum White Pearl, R-513 Rallye Red.

Not directly: the paint code isn't in the VIN. A Honda dealer can look the code up from your VIN, or you can read it off the label described above. The finder also lists every Honda color by year and model.

A tri-coat gets its depth from two separate components: a color basecoat, then a translucent pearl mid-coat sprayed over it.
